Doral takes its name from the Doral Golf Resort, built on reclaimed land in the early 1960s by developers Doris and Alfred Kaskel, and the city that eventually incorporated around it in 2003 grew up fast: golf courses, master-planned residential developments, and one of the more international communities in Miami-Dade. Because so much of Doral’s housing stock is newer construction, remodeling work here tends to focus less on structural repair and more on customization, reconfigured layouts, upgraded finishes, and additions that fit a still-growing city.
