Tamarac was built by developer Kenneth Behring starting in 1963 with a specific idea: give active retirees the privacy of a single-family home with the convenience of a condominium, beginning with the one-story units of Tamarac Lakes and later the thousands of villas and coach homes in Kings Point. That retirement-community foundation still shapes the city today alongside newer single-family neighborhoods, so renovation needs here range from accessibility and aging-in-place updates to standard family-home remodels.
