Garage-to-Suite Conversion with Private Bedroom & Bath

Elbaz Construction converted this detached garage into a self-contained living suite, starting with the shell itself. The exterior was refinished in smooth gray stucco and fitted with new white-framed sliding windows and a craftsman-style front door — a solid panel door with a multi-pane glass lite, matte black hardware, and a wall-mounted sconce above it. A new concrete entry pad ties the structure into the yard, completing the transformation from garage to standalone living space.

Inside, the former garage now functions as a bright, flexible bedroom. Wood-look luxury vinyl plank flooring runs throughout, paired with fresh white walls, recessed lighting, and a ceiling-mounted HVAC vent for climate control. A sliding closet door opens to a reach-in closet fitted with wire shelving, and interior doors are finished with black lever hardware for a cohesive, modern look against the all-white trim.

The ensuite bathroom is where the project really shows its craftsmanship. The shower is enclosed with a frameless-style sliding glass door on a matte black barn-door track, opening onto floor-to-ceiling marble-look porcelain tile with a built-in niche and shower floor finished in a checkerboard mosaic of cream, taupe, gray, and white tile. Matte black fixtures — a multi-function shower head, handheld sprayer on a slide bar, and separate valve — carry through to the vanity, where a charcoal-gray shaker cabinet with a white quartz countertop and undermount sink is paired with a matte black gooseneck faucet, an elongated white toilet, and a wall mirror above.
