Navy Vanity Bathroom Remodel with Backlit Tile Niche

This bathroom was taken down to a full renovation, with large-format white tile run floor-to-ceiling around the tub and shower wall in a staggered brick pattern. A frameless sliding glass panel with matte black hardware encloses the tub/shower combo, and a recessed niche cut into the tile wall is fitted with integrated LED strip lighting, giving the shower a warm glow and a clean spot to store bottles without a bulky caddy. Every fixture in the wet area — the round rain shower head, the handheld wand on its hose, and the valve trim — was finished in matte black, carried through to the door hinges and lever handles on the room's gray wood-grain doors.

At the vanity wall, the team installed a navy blue shaker-style double-sink cabinet topped with a white marble-look counter and a pair of undermount rectangular sinks with brushed nickel faucets. A full-width frameless mirror spans the wall above the counter, doubling the light from the window above it and reflecting the shower enclosure across the room. The floor was replaced with a patterned cement-look tile in blue, gray, and white, giving the room a graphic, Moroccan-inspired base that plays off the solid navy cabinetry and white tile above.

The finished space reads as a cohesive, spa-style bathroom — navy, black, and brushed nickel against white tile and a patterned floor — and connects directly to an adjoining bedroom, making it function as a private en-suite retreat rather than a standalone hall bath.
