About this project

This primary bathroom renovation centers on a spacious frameless glass walk-in shower finished floor to ceiling in large-format, stone-look porcelain tile in a warm taupe tone. A vertical accent band of embossed metallic tile in a raised floral pattern runs the full height of the back wall, framing a square rain shower head and a handheld wand mounted on a slide bar with a brushed-nickel thermostatic valve. Two stacked rectangular niches are set into the tile wall with metal edge trim and lined in a copper, bronze, and black penny-round hex mosaic — the same mosaic carries across the entire curbless shower floor, tying the niches and the pan together as one continuous design move.

Just outside the shower, a new double vanity anchors the rest of the room: espresso-black shaker-style cabinetry with brushed-nickel bar pulls, a white marble countertop with soft gray veining, and a pair of rectangular undermount sinks with widespread nickel faucets. A full-width mirror in a brushed stainless frame runs the length of the vanity, and the original double-hung window was kept and trimmed out in fresh white casing, preserving natural light while the rest of the room was rebuilt around it.

Every surface in the room reads as new, from the elongated white toilet set into its own tiled recess to the light gray wood-look plank flooring outside the shower. Finish choices like the metal-trimmed niches, the mixed-metal fixtures, and the sculptural floral tile accent give the space a boutique-hotel feel rather than a standard builder-grade refresh.
