Waterfront Backyard & Outdoor Living Transformation

This South Florida waterfront property received a complete backyard remodel that turned an underused rear yard into a fully appointed outdoor living environment. At the center of the project is a new flat-roof cabana structure, cantilevered off the back of the home, with a rich wood-tone tongue-and-groove ceiling framed in black steel edge beams and supported by a striking run of slender, bronze-toned vertical steel fin columns. Recessed can lighting and a matte black three-blade ceiling fan are built into the ceiling, making the covered space usable well past sunset.

Underneath the cabana, Elbaz Construction built out a full outdoor kitchen: a built-in stainless steel Wolf gas grill, a stainless prep sink with a black gooseneck faucet, and a stone countertop with a waterfall edge that wraps into a bar for seating on woven wicker stools. The kitchen backs up to a column clad in large-format, stone-look porcelain tile that ties the structure visually back to the home's exterior finishes.

The hardscape work extended well beyond the cabana. The existing pool area was reworked with a new spillover spa finished in black stone coping with bubbler water jets, set beside a resurfaced pool with a light gray large-format paver deck. That paver deck steps down through a run of warm-toned composite wood decking that carries the outdoor living space all the way to the water's edge, where the property's private dock and boat lift sit along the canal.
